I m not sure about the fee structure, but they say it is the first Montessori school in chennai to be recognised by the Indian Montessori Centre. The school was initially started with 2 children in March 2001, presently they have a strength of over 60 children.
Hi....thats great...I would like to know the fee structure in that school and also the kind of education they teach.....is the montessori education very different from CBSE??
I am not sure if you are referring to the teaching methodology or the course content. Montessori system is more a methodology than course content. I can tell you about my experience with the methodology.
The Montessori methodology is different from the CBSE teaching methodology. But the same difference is there for all streams , Matric, Stateboard etc. The Montesori methodology focuses on getting the child to understand the concept and the logic and arrive at the knowledge.
As opposed to the mainstream methodology of laying out the facts/concepts and asking the child to accept it at facevalue and and store the knowledge like a databank, without understanding the underlying logic.
Both the methodologies have their own merits and demerits. I think that a lot comes down to what your child is comfortable with and what you think will be best for your child.
To put it in very generalistic terms the Montessori system is like the American teaching system.
As to the fees, It costs approximately about Rs. 7000/- per semester for my son and about Rs. 8500/- for my daughter who is in Class 1.
Thanks a lot for the info iamkoz....I think i can try the school next year for my kid as he is more inquisitive and he would surely adapt to this system...
