Topic: International schools in india and abroad Posted: 01-May-2009 at 5:26pm
Since everybody is talking about schools i have some queris of my own about international schools.
Does international schools means icse board?
what is diffrent in international schools and icse schools?
the article i read says india has 8th rank about international schools internationally. THere are some 40 schools in india. It also says international schools in india has ac and escalators and swimming pools and all other hitech stuff like computers etc. but then they don;t get any funding from gov so they totaly depend on fees.
so sometimes they have loan which for a yr they pay some koti rs. on interest.
so they sometimes incrase fees 50-100%
i was wondering what is diff. in those international schools and how much it is worth?
Also who have been to international schools in india and abroad how was it then and what u liked the most or appriciated most about it other than normal schoosl.
International schools in India are the IB schools. For more updates check www.ibo.org You will get to know all details.. they have PYP,MYP and DP based on the classes. Like any certification.. like we have the ISO, CMMI etc.. this type of school also needs to go through a cenrtification process and they have various stages in the process. I have myself attended a few sessions when IB people had come down from Singapore for the assessment in Urjit's school. But you will get all the required details in ibo.org and schools like this are good if you plan to send your kids abroad for studies.. they can get admission without any further tests.
The students in US have to take SAT as well .... so why would IB students be exempted?
May be they do not have to take TOEFL.
I had heard that most of the IB schools in India do not have the Indian registration yet
It means that if children pass out of the school before the school gets the registration they will not get admission to Engg etc in India.
....is that true?
IB school can be private as well or public.
they are just a school that teaches a different international cirriculum
i think in india it is very expensive because they have to have a predefined facility to teach IB cirriculum and also the teachers have to go through some trainning too.
and then they just charge extra for the fancy name.
in USA some public school follow IB cirriculum. like in my school district elementary school follow IB cirriculum but we still take the state level tests.
in another school district near mine they have IB cirriculum for high school.
they kind of provide a wide variety of subjects to choose from. but still they take state test.
